Cooper the Confused Cattledog here; have any of you heard the rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle?
Mom’s writing a blog post for Sunday on firebonnet.com and she’s been reading some nursery rhymes and poems to us. There’s this one that is very puzzling…
Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
I’m so confused. Am I to understand that a cow actually jumped over the moon? What? I mean I’m sure I could get a cow to jump if I nipped him on the heels but I don’t think it would jump anywhere near the moon.
And where is that dish going? Is my dinner still on it? And why would it go with a spoon… my head is spinning.
The only thing that makes any sense is me laughing at Tuxedo Jack trying to play the fiddle. Hey diddle diddle silly cat!
